Mrs. Candace Richard, Principal

Welcome to Gramercy Elementary School's Website!
My name is Candace Richard, and I am honored to serve as the new principal of Gramercy Elementary School. With 22 years of educational experience in St. James Parish Schools, I have spent my entire career serving the students and families of the parish I proudly call home. Throughout my career, I have held the roles of classroom teacher, media specialist, instructional coach, assistant principal, and most recently, associate principal of Lutcher High School. These experiences have provided me with a deep understanding of teaching, learning, leadership, and the importance of building strong relationships within a school community.
My belief is that every child has potential and deserves opportunities to grow academically, socially and emotionally in a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment. I am committed to fostering a positive school culture where students feel valued, families feel connected and staff members are empowered to do their best work.
I am married and the proud mother of three children, all recent graduates of St. James Parish Schools who are now pursuing their college educations. As both an educator and parent, I understand the importance of strong partnerships between schools, families and the community and look forward to working with all stakeholders for the success of our students. I am excited to begin this new chapter at Gramercy Elementary and look forward to working together as the school continues its tradition of excellence.
Mrs. Heidi Maul, Assistant Principal

Welcome to Gator Country! I am Mrs. Heidi Maul, and I am excited to join Gramercy Elementary as your assistant principal. With nearly 20 years of experience in education, I have served as both a classroom teacher and assistant principal in Ascension Parish, dedicating my career to supporting student success and fostering positive school cultures.
I earned my degree in education from Louisiana State University, my masters degree from Southeastern Louisiana University, and later obtained my educational leadership certification. Most recently, I served as an assistant principal at Lake Elementary in St. Amant, Louisiana. I am committed to creating a safe, engaging, and welcoming environment where all students can learn and grow.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Steven, and our 3 children, Jackson, Ann Marie, and Evan. I am excited to be working closer to my home in Paulina and look forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to make each school year a successful one.
Bryce Scott, Dean of Students

My name is Bryce Scott, and I am honored to serve as the Dean of Students. As a proud native of St. James Parish, it is truly a blessing to have the opportunity to serve the community that helped shape me into the person I am today. I am a graduate of Nicholls State University, where I earned my degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English. Before stepping into this role, I had the privilege of teaching at St. James High School. My time in the classroom allowed me to build meaningful relationships with students and families while gaining a firsthand understanding of the challenges and opportunities our students face each day. Those experiences reinforced my passion for working with young people and helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally. As Dean of Students, I am committed to creating a positive school culture where students are held to high expectations while also being provided with the guidance, encouragement, and support they need to succeed. I am incredibly excited about this new role and the opportunity to work alongside our students, families, teachers, and community members.
